FTC & ASA Disclosure

Why it matters

Audiences have the right to know when content is paid, gifted, or affiliated. Clear disclosure is required by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), and most EU regulators.

How to disclose on NanoMatch

  • Use one of #ad, #sponsored, #partner, or platform-native disclosure (Instagram "Paid partnership", TikTok "Branded content").
  • Place the disclosure at the start of the caption or within the first 3 seconds of video.
  • Disclose in the same language as your audience.
  • Gifted product still counts as material connection — disclose it.

What NanoMatch stores

Every contract has a ftc_disclosure_required flag and the AI Content QA checks each asset for a visible disclosure before approval. Missing disclosures block payout release.

If a regulator contacts you
